Sustainability

Perfection Fresh is committed to using the safest, most cost-effective, environmentally sustainable packaging available. We are continually searching for improvements in the product and process mix to provide better value to our customers, our employees and the environment.
In 2007, Perfection Fresh became the first Australian company to win a prestigious Produce Marketing Association (PMA) inaugural Impact Award for food safety with its new generation, tamper evident grape tomato punnet.
Ninety-eight per cent of all rigid Perfection Fresh packaging (punnets and trays) is now PET (polyethylene terephthalate). Ninety per cent of all rigid Perfection Fresh packaging is now purchased from a local manufacturer.
Perfection Fresh has reduced general waste by 60 per cent since mid-2010 by segregating general, recyclable and organic waste. It is now working with EarthPower - Australia's first food waste-to-energy facility which produces green electricity using food waste as a renewable energy source.
All of Perfection Fresh's organic waste - approximately 35 tonnes per week - is sent to EarthPower.
Perfection Fresh is also a signatory to the Packaging Council of Australia Inc's Australian Packaging Covenant, which commits signatories to a national recycling target of 65 per cent.
