Interactive Media Award for Perfection Fresh website
The corporate website of fresh produce company and marketing innovator, Perfection Fresh Australia, has won a "Best in Class" award in the 2010 international Interactive Media Awards.
The "Best in Class" award in the category of health/nutrition is the highest honour bestowed by the United States-based Interactive Media Awards and represents the best in website planning, execution and overall professionalism.
Perfection Fresh's website was designed by web design agency (zero)seven in collaboration with public relations agency, Aqua Public Relations, both based in Brisbane, in conjunction with Perfection Fresh's marketing department. Relaunched in March following nine months' redevelopment, the site attracts consumers, home cooks, chefs, growers, retailers, customers and suppliers.
Key features of the content-rich site include dedicated consumer and industry sections, more than 250 recipes and high quality images featuring Perfection Fresh produce, profiles on more than 140 specialty and commodity fresh produce lines, seasonal themes, grower profiles, an educational fruit and vegetable poll and consumer and trading partner e-newsletter components. The site is built on Umbraco, the open source content management system (CMS) platform for publishing content on the world wide web and intranets.
Marketing manager, Lee Carnemolla, said the site provided a comprehensive introduction to the Perfection Fresh business, its products and services and had satisfied the brief for a fresh, enticing user-friendly marketing tool.
"A key objective was to engage consumers and home cooks. We wanted to increase their knowledge of fresh produce including where it comes from and how it is grown and to inspire them to recreate their own fresh produce dishes at home using our recipes and serving suggestions," Ms Carnemolla said.
The site rotates its feature colour palette seasonally to highlight the seasonal availability of fresh produce. It also presents profiles of selected growers from among the 150 around Australia who supply to Perfection Fresh.
It facilitates relationships with Perfection Fresh trading partners by including at-a-glance terms of trade information and point-of-sale material and provides a supplier portal with order fulfillment and product traceability features. It also showcases Perfection Fresh's joint venture partnerships.
The site provides links to Perfection Fresh's Facebook and Twitter pages and other interactive media tools are being developed.
To win, the site successfully navigated a comprehensive judging system and satisfied specific criteria including design, content, feature functionality, usability and standards compliance and cross-browser compatability. It achieved a total of 485 points out of 500.
The annual Interactive Media Awards recognise the highest standards of excellence in website design and development. They are an initiative of the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organisation of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals. The IMC established the awards in 2006 to provide accomplished and talented web professionals with the endorsements and tools necessary to be recognised in the marketplace as leading providers of top-tier services.
The competition is open to individuals and organisations involved in designing, developing, managing, supporting and promoting websites. Nominations from around the world are considered.
