Pineapple - Bethonga Gold
The Bethonga Gold is a unique hybrid pineapple brought to Australia from Hawaii in 1987. Bethonga Gold pineapples have low acid levels and a higher sugar content than standard pineapples. This gives them a stronger, sweeter flavour and makes them taste extra delicious. Bethonga Gold pineapples do not ripen further after picking.

Available from January to December.
Serving suggestion
Bethonga Gold pineapples are delicious eaten fresh on their own, or added to fruit salad, pies, cakes, ice cream, yogurt, punches and other desserts. They also can be used in most sweet and sour dishes, and many savory recipes.
