Melon - Honeydew
Honeydew melons have smooth, white or yellow skin with pale green to green flesh. They are about 15-20cm in diameter and round to oval in shape. Their flesh, contained by a thin, firm skin or rind, is moist, sweet and succulent with seeds in the centre.
Seasonality
Available from January to December.
Serving suggestion
Honeydew melons are best eaten raw although they can be baked. They are refreshing served chilled simply on their own, or in fruit salad, sorbet, ice cream, seafood salads and make a great chilled soup.
Did you know?
Sometimes, the seeds of an especially juicy melon will rattle if the melon is shaken.
