Zucchini - Flower
Zucchini vines produce two types of zucchini flower - both can be used in cooking. The male is more delicate and has a thin stem, while the female is generally larger and has a sweeter stem. Look for firm, fresh-looking flowers that are only slightly open. Remove stamens, anthers and ovaries before cooking and store for a maximum of three days. To enjoy them at their best, eat soon after buying.
Seasonality
Available from November to May.
