Fennel - Baby
Both the bulbous base and the lovely leaves of baby fennel are edible. Baby fennel bulbs have a slightly sweet, anise flavour while the leaves have a much stronger taste. Fennel is a good source of dietary fibre and vitamin C and the leaves are rich in vitamin A.

Available from January to December.
Serving suggestion
Baby fennel enhances both sweet and salty dishes. Use the leaves to flavour salads, soups, vegetables, fish and poultry. Try baby fennel in stews or soups or for an authentic Mediterranean flavour.
