Wombok - Baby
Also known as baby Chinese cabbage, baby wombok is very sweet and can be eaten raw, just like lettuce. Its leaves are thinner and softer than cabbage and it has a naturally curly leaf. Baby wombok is a source of dietary fibre, for a healthy digestive system, a source of vitamin C, and an excellent source of folate, for healthy cells.
Seasonality
Available from January to December.
Serving suggestion
Baby wombok is ideal to use in Asian style cooking or raw in a salad. Use shredded leaves as a lighter alternative when making coleslaw. Remember, baby wombok has a shorter cooking time than large-sized cabbages.
