Roasted La Bella Figura® Figs with Mascarpone Cheese, Honey and Hazelnuts

 

A dreamy, decadent dessert which enhances the natural goodness of figs!

 

Serves 4.
Prep Time: 10 minutes.
Cooking Time: 10 minutes.

 

Ingredients

  • 8 large ripe La Bella Figura® figs
  • 3-4 tbsp runny honey
  • 1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts, crushed
  • 1 cup mascarpone
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • 1/3 cup thickened cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (210°C fan-forced) .
  • Cut the La Bella Figura® figs halfway down into quarters, leaving the bases intact. Place in a buttered ovenproof dish.
  • Drizzle each with about a teaspoon of honey.
  • Roast for 10 minutes, or until La Bella Figura® figs are soft.
  • While La Bella Figura® figs are roasting, mix mascarpone, thickened cream, icing sugar and vanilla essence and whisk until combined.
  • Remove La Bella Figura® figs from oven and spoon a small dollop of mascarpone mix into the centre, topping with crushed hazelnuts and a light drizzle of honey.
