Sauté Minicab® Baby Cabbage with Garlic and Walnuts

 

A wonderful, warm alternative to coleslaw! The nutty flavour of the walnuts and the sweet garlic make this a perfect accompaniment to your favourite pork dishes. 

 

Serves 4.
Prep Time: 15 minutes.
Cooking Time: 8 minutes.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 Minicab® baby cabbage, shredded
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 large red onion, cut into very thin wedges
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup whole walnuts
  • 1/3 cup light sour cream
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • Char-grilled loin pork steaks, to serve
  • Crusty bread, to serve

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add oil and walnuts and cook, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until toasted.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove walnuts to a board. Set aside to cool, roughly chop.
  • Add garlic and red onion to pan, cook 2 minutes or until soft.
  • Add Minicab® baby cabbage and cook, tossing constantly until cabbage just starts to wilt.
  • Remove from heat. Stir through sour cream, walnuts and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve warm with pork and crusty bread.
