Sauté Minicab® Baby Cabbage with Garlic and Walnuts
A wonderful, warm alternative to coleslaw! The nutty flavour of the walnuts and the sweet garlic make this a perfect accompaniment to your favourite pork dishes.
Serves 4.
Prep Time: 15 minutes.
Cooking Time: 8 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 Minicab® baby cabbage, shredded
- 3 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 large red onion, cut into very thin wedges
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup whole walnuts
- 1/3 cup light sour cream
- Salt and ground black pepper
- Char-grilled loin pork steaks, to serve
- Crusty bread, to serve
Cooking Instructions
- Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Add oil and walnuts and cook, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until toasted.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove walnuts to a board. Set aside to cool, roughly chop.
- Add garlic and red onion to pan, cook 2 minutes or until soft.
- Add Minicab® baby cabbage and cook, tossing constantly until cabbage just starts to wilt.
- Remove from heat. Stir through sour cream, walnuts and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve warm with pork and crusty bread.
