How Perfection Fresh Supports Communities Through Produce Donations

Foodbank Australia is the nation's largest food relief organisation, sourcing and distributing food to thousands of frontline charities and community groups supporting Australians in need.

Contributing fresh produce to this network helps ensure more Australians have access to healthy food when they need it most.

According to Foodbank Australia's 2025 partner impact report, Perfection Fresh donated 296,173 kilograms of food, helping provide the equivalent of 533,645 meals to people experiencing hardship across Australia. 

The impact of these donations is amplified through Foodbank's extensive distribution network. In 2025, Foodbank sourced the equivalent of 92 million meals nationally, helping millions of Australians access essential food relief. 

As Foodbank Australia CEO Kylea Tink acknowledged:

Reducing food waste while supporting communities is the focus of our partnership with OzHarvest, Australia's leading food rescue organisation.

OzHarvest rescues quality surplus food and delivers it directly to charities that support people experiencing food insecurity. By donating fresh produce that may not enter traditional retail channels, but remains perfectly good to eat, we help ensure valuable food reaches people rather than going to waste.

Our weekly donations support programs like the Sydney Schools Run and Market, providing fresh fruit to students from 55 schools. Over the past year, our contributions have assisted in providing 50,235 kilos or the equivalent of more than 100,00 meals, and we look forward to continuing this vital partnership.

The scale of OzHarvest's impact demonstrates the power of food rescue. In 2025, the organisation rescued more than 17.6 million kilograms of food, delivered over 35 million meals, supported 1,544 charities, and prevented more than 17,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions through its food rescue operations. 

Through partnerships like this, every donation contributes to a larger network working to tackle both food insecurity and food waste, creating meaningful benefits for people, communities and the environment.
